THE LEADERSHIP CIRCLE
The Leadership Circle is a group of 15-20 residents of Allison Hill who will help guide Village Roots. This group makes sure Village Roots is rooted in the community’s needs, hopes and vision for a love-centered future. The Leadership Circle’s exact structure and functions may evolve as Village Roots develops and receives community input.
Important things about the Leadership Circle:
- Community led: People who live in Allison Hill will decide the direction and focus of Village Roots.
- Role: The Leadership Circle will help choose and prioritize what’s important to Village Roots and what to focus on first.
- Pay: Members will be paid fairly for their time, because their ideas and effort are valuable.
- Power: The Circle will make valuable decisions for Village Roots with community input, giving the community control.
- Time: Leaders agree to be part of the Leadership Circle for at least one year.
- 2-hour meetings every 2 weeks (4 hours of meetings a month)
- Leaders will decide on the best date and time for meetings
- Approximately 6 hours of work on Village Roots on priorities determined by the Leadership Circle
- Different voices: Anyone who lives in Allison Hill is welcome! We want people from all parts of the community to join, including young people and those who might not think of themselves as leaders.
- Help and training: Village Roots will give Leadership Circle members the support and resources they need to be good leaders. Leaders will decide on what knowledge and skills they need to make their vision for Allison Hill come to life.
